Founded in 2017 by Maggie Ortega, Patra’s Pitty Project was a long time coming. In 2014, Maggie began visiting a local animal shelter and met Patra, who was believed to be eight years old at the time. Due to no fault of her own, Patra was overlooked time and time again for four years. Luckily, her life changed for the better on that first day that she met Maggie. Every day Maggie went to the shelter and built a trusting relationship through going for walks and training. Finally, it was obvious that Patra found her mom. Since then, Patra has experienced so many things and nothing but love. Patra now spends her days lounging in her bed, playing with her toys, and being spoiled by her humans. Seeing Patra’s transformation from shelter life to who is she today inspired Maggie to do the same for otherdogs in need. And thus, Patra’s Pitty Project was born.
Patra’s Pitty Project is a registered, nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal rescue located in Milford, Massachusetts. We are an all-volunteer, shelterless rescue. We are an all-breed rescue that strives to help the underdog. We pride ourselves in our ability to rehabilitate those dogs who have had a rough start in life. We focus on local dogs that are surrendered for various reasons and those dogs who are in local shelters.
Because we are an all-volunteer, shelterless rescue, we are always looking to build our foster and volunteer network, please email us for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
